A little about me

Hello, I'm George.

Runner, private pilot, curious traveller.

Usually thinking about the next place to go, the next thing to learn, or the next goal to work towards.

Why this little corner exists

For the doing.
And the remembering.

A place to keep the memories.

I like having something to work towards. A race to train for, somewhere I’d like to fly, a place I haven’t been. But I also want to remember the bits along the way, not just tick off the goal at the end.

That’s what this site is for. A home for the progress, photographs, videos and small stories that can get lost in a social feed. Something for me to look back on, and something to share with friends and people who enjoy the same things.

A few things I keep coming back to

Different ways to get out there.

Running

One run led to another.

I started running on , with a couch-to-5k-style start. Later that year came Berlin, my first marathon.

Now, the World Majors and SuperHalfs are my two big running goals. I also like collecting runs in different cities, even when there’s no race involved.

My running story

Flying

A different perspective.

I’m a private pilot flying single-engine piston aircraft. I have my SEP (Land), night rating and UK CAA restricted instrument rating, IR(R).

There are more hours to fly, airfields to visit and qualifications to work towards. The logbook keeps track of the flights; this is a place for the story behind them.

Travel

Another place to explore.

I like exploring new places and taking photos and videos along the way. Sometimes a trip comes with a start line; sometimes it’s just a chance to be somewhere different.

I want to keep a record of where I’ve been, revisit the memories and leave room for the places still on the list.

The professional side

Technology, AI & data.

Those are my professional curiosities. You’ll find that side of things over at Xeneos Labs, alongside the consulting work.
